BBQ. Jazz. Animal Health.
Overland Park, Kan. – August 28, 2018 – What do these three things have in common? Kansas City plays a HUGE role in all of them. We all know KC Joe’s and Charlie Parker, but did you know that Kansas City is the epicenter of the animal health industry? It’s called the KC Animal Health Corridor (KCAHC).
The KCAHC stretches from Columbia and St. Joseph, Missouri to Manhattan, Kansas. Within that area, there are more than 300 companies and 20,000 people working in animal health. These companies represent 56 percent of total worldwide animal health, diagnostics and pet food sales.
JNA’s work for the KCAHC is a shining example of collaboration in the agency. From Account to Creative to Video to PR, a good 75 percent of the JNA team worked with the KC Area Development Council (KCADC) to creatively execute KCAHC’s biggest event of the year. And man, was it a blast!
For the last 12 years, KCAHC has hosted a Homecoming Dinner that brings together the animal health industry’s biggest players to celebrate their success. This year, more than 1,100 industry influencers gathered at the Kansas City Convention Center on Monday, Aug. 20 for a (delicious) Jack Stack dinner, memorable recap of 2018’s progress and entertainment by Second City Works, an improv comedy troupe from Chicago.
The halls were lined with JNA-designed posters and banners. Molly Balloons created an exclusive balloon design for the KCAHC. The tables inside were assigned with JNA-designed table tents and our high-quality videos were projected on one of the biggest and loudest screens in the area. Local and trade media were present and covering the event and we were all over KCADC’s Instagram.
Needless to say, a lot of work put in resulted in a fun, memorable and successful event.
But the success story doesn’t end there. The next day was the KCAHC Investment Forum, one of the only investment forums in the world for early-to mid-stage companies in the animal health sector to present their vision and business plan to potential investors and strategic partners. We welcomed more than 40 financial funds and 200 animal health companies to the day-long investment forum and networking event.
The Investment Forum is a great example of just how important the KCAHC is in the animal health industry — we host one of the most important events in the industry in Kansas City, Missouri! Huge deals were being made right within the walls of the Convention Center — deals that could change the future of animal health as we know it.
The Investment Forum and KCAHC are gaining national media attention with coverage in business and daily newspapers, television, animal health trade publications and even Forbes.
We believe that a mere 2 days of celebrating KC’s role in the animal health industry isn’t nearly enough, but at least we can go all out on a few days a year.
